AM I?
Am I so crazy
I scream blood on my hands?
Am I so foolish
that I’m mounted in the sands?
Am I so invisible
shadows on the wall disappear?
Am I so confused
to not see things crystal clear?
Am I so hostile
the anger inside terrifies me?
Am I so ashamed
to move on and just let it be?
Am I so distracted
from recognizing loved ones’ pain?
Am I so cynical
forgetting when I was ever sane?
Am I so appalled
to allow my friends as my compass?
Am I so disturbed
from the things that I accomplish?
Am I so guilty
by the memories inside my wall?
Or am I so alone
that I’m simply nothing at all?
LETTERS
The words on the faded page,
scribbled in ink as dark as night,
clearly shows all your rage
and you=re giving all your might.
Do the bombs from the sky
keep you from your sleep?
If you want me to try,
I=ll imagine it and weep.
It=s been set in stone
that you=re still angry at me.
But after all my screams and groans,
how come you can=t set me free?
Just open your eyes and stay,
I don=t care anymore about you.
Just go on your merry way
and ignore everything that=s true.
And yet, every time I say it,
I know it=s all a lie.
I carry your load through the bit
and hope you=ll soon fly.
Just promise you=ll forgive me,
so these sad eyes will light up.
Promise you=ll be all you can be,
even in the sands your enemies corrupt.
I know you=ll come home soon,
in one full piece or a coffin.
Either way, you=ll fill the room
with loved ones coming often.
I=ll send you another letter
in a little while coming;
so keep going strong and better,
and I=ll live again from nothing.
